Happy Holidays!

Happy Holidays! In true holiday fashion, we have been super busy! Our Elf "Elvis" showed up this past week from the North Pole. We are so happy to have him around. Maybe he will be a little motivation for a 2 year old to behave?

This is Elvis...

We attended Breakfast with Santa. Scotty spent the week before in much discussion with me about Santa.  Several key questions were, "Santa bite?" and "Santa scary?" After I convinced him that Santa was not scary and would not bite him, he did sit on his lap.  When asked what he wanted for Christmas he just kept repeating "toys." He was very shy, but well behaved for Santa! Smart kid.

Scotty is out of school on Christmas break as of December 14th. We  celebrated with a little Christmas Party at school.  He was just the cutest little boy sitting at the table with all his friends eating his treats. As a gift,  I received an ornament with his picture as the face of an angel. This is somewhat questionable! hehe

I returned to work this week. It's not a lot of hours, but it gets me out of the house. While I enjoy getting out of the house, the getting out of the house is what seems to be the hardest! I mean whoa! Wednesday was no exception as it ended in a call to 9-1-1. We have no idea how this happened, because one minute the car was open, and the next it was locked and Hadley and the keys were in it. Fortunately it was a cool day and they were there pretty quick to get her out. Sorry H girl!

Scotty went to his first dentist appointment. He was awesome. Here he is brushing Sammy the Snakes teeth.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Late here! Hard to be on time these days with two young kids. We just do our best!

We had a fun Thanksgiving with family. My dad and I did the traditional Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving day in Katy. It's a lot of fun and it makes me feel better about eating the rest of the day!

We spent the day with my family.

We decorated the tree. Well,  I decorated the tree. Scott had to watch the kids and Scotty got bored after hanging about 6 Santa's. I must admit that decorating for Christmas is A LOT of work for some reason?

We did complete a craft. I got two of these. Not sure what I was thinking. Hadley is too young for this project. Maybe next year. I love our little hand Christmas Ornament.

We wish you all a very Happy Holiday Season.

A Birthday and A Baptism

We had a really busy weekend! My dad's birthday was November the 13th. He was out of town in STL hunting with friends,  so we had to celebrate a bit late! My dad turned the big 70 this year! I think he looks great! We celebrated at our home with dinner, apple pie, ice cream, and of course presents! I love you dad. Hands down, you are just the VERY best dad any girl could have...Happy Birthday and Many More!

We had Hadley Baptized this past Sunday and we also made the decision to join our church. What a BIG day for our family!! Everyone was there!  I have to admit that just about everything that went wrong that day could have....We got to the church on time. Things were going fine. We met with the pastor, practiced, and we were to come up after the solo. I am following along in the program and the next thing I remember is practically running out of the church, Scott tailing me, Scotty, well we assume my parents had him, and the solo starting. Yes, we had a blowout! Not a tire, a diaper B-L-O-W-O-U-T! Oh, no Scott says...no wipes. This is getting fun! So I run into the nursery, practically break down the door and help myself to the changer to assess the situation. Luckily the nursery ladies were so sweet and understanding! The situation was.... Poo all over the special blanket that all the kids have gotten Baptized in, poo on her back, poo all over me, poo on her bloomers...well you get it. Luckily her dress had a very small amount and so this was in our favor at least! I wiped her all up, ran into the church and we were on!  As she started to lose her cool, we had Aunt Stacy bring up a Binky. She was silent. As the pastor took Hadley,  I think my shirt came up a bit. Dear Lord, really not something I wanted the church congregation to see...my postpartum belly with about 15 more pounds to lose! No thanks. I am afraid to watch the video to relive of all of this. We probably looked incredibly ridiculous! Let me add, I forgot to wipe the poo off of me as I look down later and see it all over my black skirt! We finally head out to lunch...and well there was a hot cloud of smoke looming through the restaurant as the manager tells me his vent is having problems. Of course it is! To top off the evening Scotty got his first stomach bug or so we thought. I actually think he ate too much french fries at lunch! Momma told me there would be days like these!

Through all of this I remember during the baptism Pastor Don talking about how Hadley was planned and named by God. That he knew her before she was born. Thank you Lord for entrusting her to me, I love her greatly. I am truly blessed and well looking back on the imperfect day, these things are truly so small.

Hadley wore a dress smocked by my Aunt Cathy.
She was adorable in it.

H Girl 2M

Hadley is officially 2 months old and she has had her first round of shots. Poor little girl. She screamed and screamed and cried and cried until she was bright red in the face! I had a hard time consoling her. I admit her brother took his shots much better. If she could talk it would sound have sounded something like this..."I can't believe you did that to me...how dare you!" in the most pitiful drama queen voice EVER!  Her "hurt" cry is something else!

At her doctor's visit on 11-14 she weighed 12 pounds and 13 ounces and was 23" tall. She is doing well and growing fast. At two months Hadley is holding her head up, recognizes our voices, coo's/baby talk, smiles, raises her eyebrows, can hold an object in her hand, and sleeps 7-9 hours straight every night for her mom! Thank you H girl!  She recently starting taking a Binky or a "B" which is what we call it around here and thank GOD for that!  She is a much happier little girl.

This was taken about 2 weeks ago and the photo last week. I haven't had a lot of time to take out the camera so my I-phone has been great!

Scotty Turns 2

Scotty turned 2 this year on 11-02-2011. According to an article that I read this is a really cool birthday because it is a palindrome date. Basically you can read it backwards, and well it's the same! While this is super cool, it in no way compares to how cool it is to have Scotty as my son. I love and adore him beyond words!

At 2 Scotty....
-Weighs about 29 pounds
-Stands at around 36 inches tall
-Mexican food and potatoes are favorite foods. He also enjoys eating where the "cow" lives AKA Chic-Fil-A.
-Brownie the dog and softy sleep with us every night and come down every morning for milk
-Favorite saying right now is "Uh-Oh Spagehetti-O" (I hear this a lot these days....feel like he has a repeat button stuck on "ON" somewhere!)
-In love with playing outside, lawnmowers, weed eaters, blowers, Home Depot, ice cream, school, mom, dad (in no specific order)
-Can undress down to his shirt all by himself
-Starting to use sentences like "Big truck out there."

We go to Monkey Joe's, a local bounce house that Scotty really loves, SO we only felt it necessary to bring a little bit of Monkey Joe's with family and friends to our backyard for his 2nd birthday BASH! Lot's of family and friends came to celebrate! We had such a fun time and Scotty got some really cool gifts including a guitar, tractor, cars that have lights and make noise, books, movies, stickers, planes, clothes etc! Here are some pictures from the day.
