At the Office

As some of you may know, Scott started a new job this year. Everyday, Scotty gets up and asks, "Daddy home?" Almost every morning I say no.  Scott usually leaves around 6AM and returns around 7PM during the week. We are so thankful for all his hard work, but where does he go? We all wanted to know. This weekend we took a little trip into Houston to see!   The best detail of Scott's office? The view!  You can see a lot from the 67th floor. It was really fun to take the kids downtown and let Scotty experience all the per Scotty "high in the sky buildings." We stopped and took some pictures in the lobby on the 59th floor. It was a fun beautiful day as a family.

We are here!

Yes, we are still here! I have had a few people ask me where we have been! It's just crazy busy around the Zuehlke house! I have had this post ready for a week or so, just trying to get some current pictures together. I haven't had much fun taking pictures due to camera issues. Let's call it a USER ERROR and a little boy who won't sit still, smile for the camera, or do much of anything that I ask these days! Grrr....

This is what we are up at at 26 months

1. For starters I am sure we have our first "girlfriend" at school.  After the Christmas break I asked Scotty if he was ready to go back to school. His reply with a big smile was "Emmy!" Emmy this and Emmy that.

2. We are climbing out of our crib! Every little noise ..."Oh no! Was that him already?"

3. A few months ago I blogged about his first song Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. We are completing the second and third verse, "How I wonder (insert foreign words here) are." Toddler Jukebox App is a MUST. Buys me a lot of time and it's totally adorable to listen to him sing along!

4. A screwdriver will fix ANYTHING that is broken. Oh, Son! How I wish this were true. I adore your innocence.

5. Shake, Shake, Shake, touch your toes, clap clap clap, cheerleader sprinkles...Yes! That's right folks! We have a potty dance! We are learning to potty on the big boy potty like a big boy and doing GREAT!

6. Soup sounds like "poop"..."More "poop" please, Momma."

7. Please, thank yous, and excuse me's....Great words that have made it into Scotty's regular vocabulary.

8. Fishing Pole...our new obsession in 2012. We fish out of the pool. (You can see how fishing out of a pool is safer then a muddy dark deep pond?!) Scotty hasn't caught anything yet! Thank God for that! hehe What's even better is watching Scotty cast his line. Downright knee slapping FUN!

9. Scotty is too old to go to the nursery at church...TEAR... However, he is now attending Sunday school and bringing Mommy home adorable art. Most importantly, he is learning about Jesus. A subject I hope he continues to love all his life.

10. When Scotty gets in trouble I give him a 1.2.3 count to improve behavior. From there, he continues on with 4.5.6.7.8.9.10.11.12! He is counting to twelve and working on 15. Now how in the world can you get a two year old in trouble after they count to 12!? I think Scotty has figured this out! Smarty Pants!

Our Hadley Girl

1. She just turned 4 months old!   4 month shots=Poor baby, Please breathe!

2. Her stats look like this: Weight; 16 pounds, 8 1/4 ounces  (94%), Height: 25 1/2 inches long (84%). She's our healthy big girl. Last night I dressed her in her 9 month PJ's!

3. She gets to start on cereal and fruit this month! Solids already?! She is not too excited about rice cereal. Can't say that I blame her.

4. I think her first word is going to be Momma. I have my money on it! She often fusses at me and it sounds just like "momma". Oh no!

5. She is working on holding her bottle.

6. Wished she could sit up all by herself. She is trying SO hard!

7. Babbles a lot, blows bubbles, brings hands together, follows mommy with her eyes and loves to watch her big brother. Hoping she is learning what NOT to do!!

8. Rolling onto her side, but not a complete roll yet. Just hoping this roll doesn't come when one of us smart parents put her on the couch. That happened to Scotty!

9. I love to go get Hadley in the morning. She has the biggest smile. So glad to see you...kind of like "Whatcha doing here?!"

10. Continues to steal our hearts everyday.

As for Mom, I am trying to adjust to a little work outside of home which comes with many challenges. For Scott, he started a new job this year. What a wonderful opportunity, we couldn't be happier. He works downtown now, so it puts him home a little later then we are used to. We are all adjusting to this. Loving most moments together, wishing some would pass!

Merry Christmas 2011

While Christmas 2011 was very busy and a little stressful, we had a wonderful time and have so much to be thankful for. We were able to spend time with all of our family which is what we enjoy most. We wish everyone a Happy New Year and many blessings in 2012.

Happy Holidays!

Happy Holidays! In true holiday fashion, we have been super busy! Our Elf "Elvis" showed up this past week from the North Pole. We are so happy to have him around. Maybe he will be a little motivation for a 2 year old to behave?

This is Elvis...

We attended Breakfast with Santa. Scotty spent the week before in much discussion with me about Santa.  Several key questions were, "Santa bite?" and "Santa scary?" After I convinced him that Santa was not scary and would not bite him, he did sit on his lap.  When asked what he wanted for Christmas he just kept repeating "toys." He was very shy, but well behaved for Santa! Smart kid.

Scotty is out of school on Christmas break as of December 14th. We  celebrated with a little Christmas Party at school.  He was just the cutest little boy sitting at the table with all his friends eating his treats. As a gift,  I received an ornament with his picture as the face of an angel. This is somewhat questionable! hehe

I returned to work this week. It's not a lot of hours, but it gets me out of the house. While I enjoy getting out of the house, the getting out of the house is what seems to be the hardest! I mean whoa! Wednesday was no exception as it ended in a call to 9-1-1. We have no idea how this happened, because one minute the car was open, and the next it was locked and Hadley and the keys were in it. Fortunately it was a cool day and they were there pretty quick to get her out. Sorry H girl!

Scotty went to his first dentist appointment. He was awesome. Here he is brushing Sammy the Snakes teeth.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Late here! Hard to be on time these days with two young kids. We just do our best!

We had a fun Thanksgiving with family. My dad and I did the traditional Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving day in Katy. It's a lot of fun and it makes me feel better about eating the rest of the day!

We spent the day with my family.

We decorated the tree. Well,  I decorated the tree. Scott had to watch the kids and Scotty got bored after hanging about 6 Santa's. I must admit that decorating for Christmas is A LOT of work for some reason?

We did complete a craft. I got two of these. Not sure what I was thinking. Hadley is too young for this project. Maybe next year. I love our little hand Christmas Ornament.

We wish you all a very Happy Holiday Season.

A Birthday and A Baptism

We had a really busy weekend! My dad's birthday was November the 13th. He was out of town in STL hunting with friends,  so we had to celebrate a bit late! My dad turned the big 70 this year! I think he looks great! We celebrated at our home with dinner, apple pie, ice cream, and of course presents! I love you dad. Hands down, you are just the VERY best dad any girl could have...Happy Birthday and Many More!

We had Hadley Baptized this past Sunday and we also made the decision to join our church. What a BIG day for our family!! Everyone was there!  I have to admit that just about everything that went wrong that day could have....We got to the church on time. Things were going fine. We met with the pastor, practiced, and we were to come up after the solo. I am following along in the program and the next thing I remember is practically running out of the church, Scott tailing me, Scotty, well we assume my parents had him, and the solo starting. Yes, we had a blowout! Not a tire, a diaper B-L-O-W-O-U-T! Oh, no Scott says...no wipes. This is getting fun! So I run into the nursery, practically break down the door and help myself to the changer to assess the situation. Luckily the nursery ladies were so sweet and understanding! The situation was.... Poo all over the special blanket that all the kids have gotten Baptized in, poo on her back, poo all over me, poo on her bloomers...well you get it. Luckily her dress had a very small amount and so this was in our favor at least! I wiped her all up, ran into the church and we were on!  As she started to lose her cool, we had Aunt Stacy bring up a Binky. She was silent. As the pastor took Hadley,  I think my shirt came up a bit. Dear Lord, really not something I wanted the church congregation to see...my postpartum belly with about 15 more pounds to lose! No thanks. I am afraid to watch the video to relive of all of this. We probably looked incredibly ridiculous! Let me add, I forgot to wipe the poo off of me as I look down later and see it all over my black skirt! We finally head out to lunch...and well there was a hot cloud of smoke looming through the restaurant as the manager tells me his vent is having problems. Of course it is! To top off the evening Scotty got his first stomach bug or so we thought. I actually think he ate too much french fries at lunch! Momma told me there would be days like these!

Through all of this I remember during the baptism Pastor Don talking about how Hadley was planned and named by God. That he knew her before she was born. Thank you Lord for entrusting her to me, I love her greatly. I am truly blessed and well looking back on the imperfect day, these things are truly so small.

Hadley wore a dress smocked by my Aunt Cathy.
She was adorable in it.
