Twinkle Twinkle

This evening, during a gentle rain storm, while sitting on the couch watching Sprout,  someone decided to debut the ever so popular song...Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. Yes, our very first song!! It went something like this. " Twinkle, Twinkle (pause) Star."  So very cute. After a few more practice runs, and talking about the word that went where the pause was, we came up something like this... "Twinkle, Twinkle, Twinkle, Little (Pause) Star." Love my little boy! Good Job Scotty!

Our Recent Addition

On Wednesday September 14th by way of c-section, Hadley Christine Zuehlke was born at 11:05 AM weighing 8 pounds, 14.5 ounces and was 20 inches long.  When they pulled Hadley out, I heard them say, "She's huge!" Dr. Patronella asked me how big Scotty was when he was born, which I responded with... 8 pounds, 1 ounce.  We are so blessed to have a big healthy baby girl! So Scotty, watch out!

We brought our little girl home on Saturday during a much needed rain storm.  Since then, we have ALL been trying to adjust to having a new little one in the house! Scotty has been challenging at times (this would be throwing more than one sippy cup at Hadley's head, going in our room while she is sleeping and saying "shh", but talking very LOUD "Baby...Sleeping!!" =this resulted in a baby gate on our door, and throwing the normal 2 year old... throw myself on the floor fits!) Scotty has also had some very sweet moments (petting Hadley on the head "Gentle", offering to share toys and "B's" or Binkie's,  giving his sister sweet kisses, and requesting to "hold" his sister).

On another note, Hadley had her very first doctor's appointment today with Dr. Nelms=best doctor ever, and she is doing well. She has almost gained her birth weight back at 8 pounds, 11 ounces. So she is eating very well!

Hadley-We love you very much and we are so excited to have you join the family! I personally fight back tears of pure joy every time I actually get a moment to look around our home to realize how blessed we are to have such a happy, healthy, loving home! Having both kids on my lap, is THE BEST FEELING EVER! Ok, that's all for now. I am so very exhausted and tired!!  Enjoy the pictures!

Mother's Day Out

Today was Scotty's first day of MDO at St. Peter's! I took the morning off from work so that I could drop him off on his first day. You know when you are so excited about something, you just can't sleep? Maybe that is why my little Scotty woke up at 5AM?  Here I am laying in bed this morning thinking...great! Why is he awake?! He is going to be so bad at school because he will be so tired! Is he sick? Is he cold? Hungry? Who knows why he woke up so early, but I was thankful that I was able to put him back down around 8ish for a 45 minute nap. This nap, I am positive, is the only reason the first day went so smoothly.

When we arrived at school around 9:10 he was a little reluctant to get out of the car, and he asked to be held, so of course I did. Here I am carrying in my toddler, school supplies, nap mat, bag, and let's not forget a full term baby. Whew, we finally made it to the door to his classroom. As I signed him in, I took a deep breath (I could hear all the other children crying), we went in slowly, and I put Scotty down. As I started to tuck all of Scotty's school stuff away in the little bins labeled  with a fish "Scotty" my brave little boy left my side to go explore.  Wow! I could not believe it. He didn't need me at all!  So, I talked to the teacher, walked over and gave my brave little boy a kiss and hug and told him I would see him later....and there were still no tears.  Once Momma got out the door, I did have some tears. I would have had more, but since I was on the way to work, and didn't have waterproof mascara on, I thought I should keep it to a minimum! My parents picked him up, and apparently he had a great day. He played and even napped for an hour on his nap mat. I hope he continues to love his days at MDO!

First Day of MDO. Isn't this just too cute?
