Still Here! Happy Thanksgiving!

We are still here! Scotty and I shared a nasty cold over the weekend.  We are on the road to recovery which is good considering Thanksgiving is just around the corner! Thursday I am running in the Turkey Trot with my dad, and the rest of the family will be cheering us on! Then we have 3 Thanksgiving celebrations to attend! I need to run like 6 Turkey Trot's with all the good food we will be having over the weekend! I hope to also get all the Christmas decor up very soon.  I started a little last weekend, but with a 1 year old, everything takes triple the time it used to. A 1 year old with a cold, even longer!
Anyway, I have so much to be thankful for! I love all my boys, our family, and friends.  Thanks for making my everyday so great! Happy Thanksgiving!

Scotty is Walking

I have to post this before I get too far behind. Scotty is walking! We are proud parents! He does a great job barefoot, shoes are a little more challenging (entertaining to watch), and of course we have some bumps and bruises!  Here is a little clip of Scotty's new found freedom!

Scotty's 1st Birthday

Wow! Last week I woke up to a one year old. The big “1”! Where does the time go? Lately, I begin all of my sentences with… “Last year at this time”…. Scott is so over this phrase, but I can’t stop. This past weekend we celebrated Scotty's special day in true fashion with a birthday party held at our home. We decided to invite just family with the exception of two of his little friends that he plays with weekly. Most everyone we invited was able to attend. That made the day special not only to Scotty, but also to Mom and Dad. I had a great time planning the party. We served chicken salad / turkey and cheese croissant sandwiches, jalapeƱo poppers, pinwheels, a pecan crusted cheese ball, goldfish, firecrackers, and of course birthday boy's favorite food...beans. The cake and cupcakes were simply divine from Ooh La La. I had our dear friend Pepper capture Scotty’s special day for us! Thanks so much Pepper!

Later that evening we celebrated more birthdays with The Jensen's at Maggiano’s. Yum! We had an a great time hanging out with friends! Lot’s of great birthdays in November to celebrate!

P.S. Somewhere in all the madness of birthday week, we are so happy to report that Scotty is now walking! Video coming soon!

Our Sweet Baby Boy Born 11/2/2009 at 1:03pm

A year ago, on this day, at 1:03 PM our sweet Scotty boy was born! Scotty has changed our lives in many unforeseen and unforgettable ways! All welcome and no regrets!

We have been blessed with one of the best gifts on earth and that is being parents.  I thank God for allowing Scott and I this pleasure! For me, being a parent, has opened a very special part of my heart.  I have learned so much more about unconditional love, innocence, sacrifice, humility, simple joy etc. I smile watching the interaction of my son and husband and I laugh when I hear them play. My house is so happy and we are so blessed. I look forward to many more wonderful birthday celebrations with Scotty!

On a lighter note, Scotty has many nicknames. One I thought I would document and share is “Bubby” given by my mom and I.  I don’t have a clue where this came from, but after some research it turns out it’s a pretty cool nickname! According to the Urban Dictionary the word “Bubby” is derived from “buddy” and “baby”. Who knew!!? It is used when describing; " a sweet name for the one you love or adore", "a best friend that beats all best friends". Like all words there are many meanings, so don’t confuse it with “Bubba”. I wonder what his friends will call him someday?!?!
Happy Birthday Scotty! We adore and love you!

P.S. There were so many great pictures from The Children's Museum it was hard to pick what to post, but I think these are some of the best! Enjoy!

Scotty's 1st Halloween!

Scotty had a great 1st Halloween weekend! We attended the fall festival in Avalon where we tried our first cotton candy. Yummy! We played at the park with mommy and climbed up everything while dad did some playing at the golf course with Papa.  Later that evening we went Trick or Treating with the most adorable little skeleton I have ever seen!!! Of course, I am biased! We also dressed up our dog children! They don’t mind as long as they don’t have to wear the devil ears hat! Of course, I had to torture them a little with it because I find it completely hilarious! What a fun weekend! More fun to come this week as we are gearing up for Birthday week! Stay tuned!

XOXO,
