Happy Fall Ya'll!

Happy Fall everyone! We hope you enjoyed it as much as our family did. Despite packing for our move, we made time to have some fun! We went to the pumpkin patch, carved a pumpkin, trick or treating, and enjoyed one of our last  family dinners here at Isthmus Cove on Halloween eve. This year Scotty was a Cardinal baseball player as he continues to love baseball, and Hadley was a cute little Cheetah! This year we hit every house in our neighborhood and we have lot's of candy to prove it! Scotty had a blast! I think Hadley had just as much fun watching brother.

" I wuv You Mommy."

We had such a great day today. Scotty was so much fun after school while my sweet baby girl napped. I Wuv (love) you, I Wuv you mommy, mommy I Wuv you. Oh, goodness! I doubt I would ever get sick of hearing those three words together. Acorn hunting, bike riding, and movie watching fun today! I really need days like these. Scotty, I will always Wuv you!

The Nasty Bug

SO, the kiddos got the stomach flu. Wow. I wasn't expecting Hadley to get the throw up bug so soon. Scotty was 2.5 before he threw up, but Hadley just 1! Sunday night around 8:30, Scotty is getting into bed and Dad  yells..."Honey, throw up everywhere." These are SUCH dreadful words. I hate throw up! I have a fear of it. If someone says "I don't feel good," I get scared.  I find it repulsive and frankly I never knew once I had kids how I could ever clean up or be around vomit.  Is this subject making your stomach turn yet?  It is mine. My stomach has been upset for days! Poor Hadley was so sick. I held her for 4 hours so I would be there when/if she got sick again. She was so upset. She just didn't understand what was going on. The minute I finally got her back into bed, I hear Scotty sick in the next room. What a night!  The poor child was sick every 10-15 min for about 9 hours! Yes, 9 hours.....I thought it would never end. At 4:30 in the morning, I finally got Scott up to take care of Scotty. I hadn't slept one wink. Back to, " I never knew once I had kids how I could ever clean up or be around vomit." Well, I just do it. I totally rock it. Yes I said that. I really can't believe how well I can handle it! I find it amazing...

NOW, onto a slightly funny story. Scotty fell asleep on the couch in the game room upstairs. I was downstairs visiting with my sister-in-law. We hear a loud thud. We thought Scotty had gotten up from his nap, but then when we didn't hear him,  we figured it was the roofers who happened to have just shown up. About 10 minutes later I go upstairs to check on Scotty, only to find him sound asleep on the floor!!! Blanket halfway on the couch, halfway on the ground. Poor baby MUST have been tired!

Chevron and Silhouettes, Hadley Turns 1!

It has been such a long time since I have been on the blog, I almost forgot the password! Anyway....

Chevron and Silhouette themed parties have been all the rage this season, so since I love them both I thought it was a perfect theme for Hadley's big 1 year birthday party! Hadley's celebration started with a trip to the Children's Museum  and the following day a family dinner and celebration at our home. We all had such a wonderful time. I can't believe my little girl is 1. We head to the doctor's this week for her 1 year check up! Can't wait to see how much my little girl has grown.

I know it's cliche, but I will continue to say it over and over again and that is that time does fly by so fast. We just purchased Hadley's "big girl" car seat. It's all girly and pink.  We love it. Now that she is crawling, and pulling up on everything,  she wants nothing to do with her bouncy. Her baby recliner, and swing, have been sitting upstairs to go back into the attic for a few months now. Seems like just the other day we were getting all that stuff down and cleaned preparing for her arrival.   We are now putting it away...again.  I can't believe summer is already here. As soon as summer is over, she will be 1! It's so bittersweet. I LOVE her so! She went to the doctor today for her 9 month well visit. She is in that stranger anxiety stage.  SO, she cried the entire time Dr. Nelms was in the room (Scotty never did this),  looking at me red faced like..."Mommy, make him go away!" It's funny how much my daughter can express her emotions  at only 9 months.   Here are my girls stats.

Weight: 21# 1 1/2 ounce  (88%)
Height: 29"     (91%)
Head Circumference: 17.5 inches  (66%)

On the other hand, Scotty keeps us so busy at 2.5.  He is at an age that we are both really enjoying. He is definitely a difficult one. STRONG WILLED.  HARD HEADED. Always up to challenge us.  Not sure where he got this? Anyone want to take a guess?   He is talking like crazy. He can carry on a  good 2.5 year old type conversation and if he doesn't know what something is he has no problem asking..."What is that?" or "What is that for?" Always trying to learn about the world around him. He is completely potty trained. He was ready at 2 and we started a little there after.  He still wears his pull-ups at night, but that's it!  I am so proud of him. He can also fully dress himself. He struggles a little with his shirts, but he can do it. He is obsessed with baseball and Caillou.   My son has taught me many things. I am so grateful for him.

Here they are at 9 months.

On June 1st, Scotty had his Adenoids and Tonsils removed. After months of being sick,  a trial run on Nasonex, and a very frustrated mommy, we had no other choice. I really wanted Scotty to feel better! No more coughing and getting sick which is what was happening several times a week. Scotty was such a brave little boy. He went in his dinosaur PJ's and of course Brownie and Softy were along for the ride. Daddy came along too. When it was time for his surgery he walked back, holding the nurses hands, and carrying his friends. He didn't look back once, but I sure did praying that he was out soon and safe and before I knew it....he was. They said when he woke up they would come and get us. We were practically running back to the recovery room once they did. I didn't want him to wake up alone in pain and scared.  When we walked in, a nurse was holding him and he was crying. Once I got my arms around him I felt a sense of relief!  He slept a bit and then I was able to bring him home to recover. He is feeling better day by day. Thank you God! I am grateful for your blessing of happy healthy children. Now how in the world am I gonna break this ice cream addiction?!
