Zuehlke Party of 4…..Baby Due September!!!!!!!!!

We are proud to announce that we are expecting another special little addition to our family sometime in September!  I am about 6 weeks pregnant! We are so very excited and we feel very blessed and might I add a little surprised!  I visited the doctor today which confirmed that the baby is doing well and that the heart beat is strong.  Whew…been waiting for a week to hear these words. Scott is already picking out boy names of course, and Scotty will be getting a big boy room earlier than expected.  I am a bit concerned how Dre’ is going to feel (he’s so sensitive) once the dogs figure this out, but Flip will be thinking “Oh great, not another one?!”
We are so grateful and welcome prayers for a healthy baby and pregnancy.

Haircut!

My little boy got his first hair cut this weekend! Long overdue as he was perfecting somewhat of an all business look in the front, party in the back.... in other words a mullet. So we took Scotty to Hair by Sony and Tony or Tony and Sony, whatever,  this is where Scott has gotten his hair cut for a very long time, and for those of you who know Scott an $8 haircut, $10 with tip, is just right and worth the small drive over to Highway 6.  Sitting on Dad’s lap and mom close by filming and snapping pictures of the big event, Scotty was, can’t believe I am about to say this, but he was a complete angel baby! Yes, Scotty did not move, he didn’t cry, he just sat on his dad’s lap and got his hair did like a big boy! I know many of you may not believe me, so I posted video for proof. Scott and I kept looking at each other, waiting for the crying to start, but it never did.  Whew! He looks adorable with his new do! He looks like such a cute little boy.

For the Love of Ducks

Not much else to say. Scotty loves Ducks. I know I have posted this before, but the obsession continues. I was told while we were in Pebble Beach that he tried to pick one up while he was feeding them. Not surprising! Duck is a mastered word at our house! All old bread is duck designated!

Pebble Beach

Wow, we just returned from Pebble Beach.  Scott flew out to San Francisco a few days earlier for work, and then I met him on Thursday to make our drive down to Pebble Beach. Finally, we got to take mini vacation as a couple! This was a “work” trip, although it seemed like ALL fun!
Pebble Beach…AMAZING! The views we had from our hotel were golf greens, forest, rolling hills, or ocean.  Scott played several rounds of Golf; I spent two days at the Spa and an afternoon in Carmel shopping. I drove up the coastline and also 17- mile drive.  Every evening we would all gather by huge fire pits outside of our hotel. As the sun would set over the ocean, the bagpipes would play Amazing Grace. Then we would sit down to a nice dinner and great conversation. It was nice to spend time away, but I really missed my little boy! I know Scott did too. When we got home Scotty spent a lot of time hugging his daddy, because he hadn’t seen him in almost a week. We are so glad to be home.
Thanks to everyone who took such good care of him while we were away.

Scotty’s recent accomplishments:
He can feed himself with a spoon.
He is running, not just walking.
He can understand us more then I ever thought.
He is opening doors; help us we need more baby proofing!
He will try to say anything we ask him too. Some words he is saying now are the following:
Nana, MaMa, Da Da, Baba (poppa), Banana (very close), No No, Juice, This, Nite Nite, Dog, Oops, Hi, Bye Bye, (I could go on and on...he is a little talker!)

He signs: I love you, down, all done, milk, change and he points to what he wants for communication. He also waves hi and bye, and hold palms up when you ask a question such as “where is…”

He is growing so fast! 14 months!

NYE 2010

NYE has a whole different meaning for anyone who has little ones. It means no more big parties, lucky to get a babysitter, you might or might not make midnight awake because your so zonked from that one glass of wine you had to calm your nerves coupled with the fact you are already exhausted from the day to day, and then midnight hits and you lay in bed praying and checking your monitor and praying again to make sure your baby stays asleep through all the fireworks! Fireworks are truly much louder when you have a baby!? I had one friend say she was pacing the floors…and another said, well I won’t make midnight. It’s so true, you are not alone! We are happy to report that Scotty did not wake up!

This NYE we were lucky to get GP (Grandpa) to keep Scotty and we enjoyed a fabulous dinner out at Fleming’s.  Yes honey I know it was a bit painful for you, even with gift cards, but I thoroughly enjoyed it! So thank you truly. You’re lucky you got some chocolate soufflĂ©!  I know Scotty had a great time too because when we arrived to get him, he was sitting on the kitchen counter with GP getting spooned Blue Bell.  What a cute picture this would have been, but I failed to have a camera! (finally got a DSLR!) If only I could attach one to my hip.  GP said "he loves it", and spoiling is what GP’s do!

We hope you and your family have a blessed 2011!

Christmas Break

Zoo Time

We took Scotty on his first trip to the Houston Zoo 12/23.  It was so fun for us to watch Scotty witness the many great creatures that God created so up close and personal for the very first time. One of our first stops included an otter that swam continuous routine circles for Scotty and me. Every time he swam by, Scotty would smile the most contagious smile that I couldn’t help but smile too.  We also made a stop in the children’s petting zoo. Scotty was very gentle with the Billy Goats and wasn’t afraid to touch them. I think this went better then my first time in a petting zoo with Billy Goats because my mom mentioned that they tried to eat my clothes! This thankfully did not happen to us. Scotty is also very interested in birds. He enjoyed the city birds just as much as anything. You know, city birds are those birds that invade your space because they are used to so many people. (Not my fav) Yea, those birds made Scotty’s day… “Bird ma-ma”, what about the elephant Scotty?! Scotty also managed to throw his sippy cup into the fence at the monkey exhibit. Great job mom! Next time I will remember not to let Scotty have his sippy cup while we stand near the exhibits. Luckily daddy was able to retrieve it! We wrapped things up after this because Scotty was really tired. We can’t wait for the next trip!

Christmas 2010

We spent time with a lot of family and friends over the Christmas week.

We spent Christmas Eve at The Hick’s. We exchanged gifts and also had our traditional White Elephant exchange. We also attended church at St. Peter’s that evening for a
Candlelight service. We took Scotty to the nursery where we found him with some new extra large sweat pants on upon our return. I guess he had a little accident! Christmas morning we spent as a family playing with the cool new kitchen that Santa had left for Scotty. If you would have asked my husband 2 years ago if it would be ok for his little boy to be playing with a kitchen, he would have said “What?!” “I don’t think so”. However, once you have children you soon realize whatever works, whatever keeps them busy in a positive way so you can actually sit down for just 2 minutes to rest,  then it’s all ok.  This is the toy that allows that for us. Scotty loves that kitchen and we love it even more I assure you!  We spent lunch with Grandpa and my family, and ended that part of the day with smores by the fire. We spent the afternoon at our house opening presents. What a wonderful Christmas. We hope yours was just as wonderful! Oh, I forgot my camera at our first Christmas round so I hope to add some more soon from Gary! Hint hint if you are reading this.
